Consumer Advisory Committee

Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) is committed to working with consumers and carers to ensure the hospital and health services we provide are responsive to the needs of our community.

Role of Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC)

The CAC provides consumer advice, direction and advocacy for the planning and delivery of health care provided by AKG. CAC members, attend monthly meetings and take part in other hospital activities and initiatives. The Committee’s role is to:

  • advise on strategies to enhance and promote consumer, carer and community participation
  • identify and prioritise issues requiring consumer and community participation
  • participate in relevant hospital committees/meetings/forums/projects/research to provide a consumer perspective
  • review promotional and educational materials provided to patients and consumers of our services
  • advocate on behalf of the community to the East Metropolitan Health Service
  • participate in the broad strategic planning and service development process
  • assist in developing, reviewing and monitoring key performance indicators for service quality and accessibility.

Consumer Engagement Register

The Consumer Engagement Register is a pool of consumers who wish to be involved in consumer discussions, hospital committees and working groups and other activities. Consumers will also have the opportunity to provide input to the CAC on specific activities. Commitment in these activities is at the discretion of the individual consumer.

Applications to the consumer register are welcomed at any time.
