Volunteering

Volunteering

We invite you to become a volunteer and make an important contribution to our hospital and to the lives of our patients and their families.

You can join one of the following volunteer groups based at Armadale Health Service:

  • Front of House Volunteers – meet and greet - helping visitors to find their way.
  • Forget Me Not Volunteers – provide social support to patients with cognitive impairment.
  • Renal Dialysis Volunteers – provide support and assistance to patients during dialysis.
  • Rehabilitation and Aged Care Volunteers – help elderly patients recovering on rehab ward.
  • Specialist Volunteer Opportunities – provide music or art therapy and help run group sessions.
  • Same Day Volunteer – provide tea/coffee sandwiches and prepare theatre gowns.
  • ED Volunteer – support to visitors and patients

How to become an AKG Volunteer

To be a volunteer of Armadale Health Service, you:

  • need to be over age 18
  • attend mandatory training and orientation
  • undergo employee screen checks (such as Working with Children checks, Aged Care Criminal Screening Check, Health Screening, Criminal Record Screening)
  • attend a friendly interview
  • must have up-to-date immunisation records via My Health Record or your regular GP.

Armadale Hospital Ladies Auxiliary Kiosk

 

The kiosk, open 7 days from 9am to 4pm, is run by the auxiliary, a registered charity which directs its profits to purchase equipment and resources for the benefit of the hospital community,

Armadale Hospital Consumer Advisory Council

 

Members of our Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) provide support and advice to the hospital to improve the hospital experience for patients, families, and carers.
