Podiatry

Our Podiatry Department provides clinical services to both inpatients and outpatients. It is a specialised unit dedicated to delivering quality care to people with high risk foot complications.

We provide the following clinics:

  • Outpatient podiatry (daily)
  • Multidisciplinary foot ulcer (weekly)
  • Community rehabilitation (weekly)

Referrals:

Referrals for outpatient podiatry may be made by a medical or nursing practitioner or an allied health professional.

  • Email your referral to AKG.Referrals@health.wa.gov.au.
  • Or submit an eReferral to Podiatry at Armadale Health Service. 

Please include a full medical history, history of the presenting complaint, presence of pedal pulses, presence of clinical infection, and prior investigations (blood work/microbiology/imaging).

Eligibility criteria for outpatient referrals:

  • Aged 16 years and over
  • Must reside in AKHS Catchment Area.
  • Must have an active foot concern (foot ulcer/infection, gangrene, Charcot Neuro-osteoarthropathy).

For urgent concerns such as development of a new foot ulcer or an acute infection of an ulcer please contact the Red Hot Foot Line in business hours.

This phone is attended by a Senior Podiatrist in business hours for urgent concerns such as development of a new foot ulcer or acute infection of an ulcer. This phone line was established to allow timely access to treatment.
